November 2010 Meeting Notes

First up we discussed what we'd like to see in upcoming meetings.  The list of subjects we came up with were:

• OpsMgr
• DPM
• Opalis
• Service Manager
• SCUP
• ConfigMgr Dashboard
• MDT integration with CM OSD
• Reporting\SRS
• CM Client Health
• R3
• Logfiles and Basic Troublshooting
• CM Tools and Add-ons
• Patching\Maintenance Windows\Tips and Tricks
• OSD\Win7

Enough people voted to meet in December, so we'll still do that on the 16th of December.  If we can bump up the date and if people are willing, we might be able to do OSD\Win7 with Mike Terrill from the AZ User Group since he may be in town again.  If not, we're thinking about Logfiles and CM Tools for the next meeting.  I've spent a week with Mike and I don't know 1/1000th of what he knows for OSD.  Mike was able to make it to our user group and complimented us on our good interaction.

I'll keep pinging Ron Crumbaker for access to the forum he created for us on myITforum.  As soon as its worked out, I'll get a form on this site where you can let us know your myITforum ID so we can get you access.

BDNA provided great food and drink for us and told us about their "Normalize" product.  Most people seemed to agree that it's missing the return to CM for WMI integration so that we can target the data that they've found for us.  They plan to go back to their PMs to see if that can quickly integrated for those with CM (Normalize works with or without CM).

Jarvis got another case of swag from Microsoft and we gave some of that away.  We have lots left for the next couple of meetings.
