MNSCUG October 2012 Meeting

Our next MN System Center User Group meeting will be Thursday, October 18th. from 4:30pm - 7:15pm at Microsoft's new Edina HQ building - 6th Floor, Lake of the Woods.

We plan to discuss user group politics (election stuff) for a few minutes and then sit back and listen to 1E since their last full session was in 2008.

Regarding elections, we're going to talk about who's been running things behind the scenes ("the board") and what a president or VP does. We'll take nominations for those positions and then hold elections in November (or possibly online).

Regarding 1E, we once again are very lucky to get Microsoft MVP Ed Aldrich who last spoke to us in March 2008. Much has changed since then. Ed is now a Channel Solutions Engineer for 1E. He plans to address "Ultimate Win7 Deployments using Configuration Manager and 1E" showcasing CM12 working in concert with AppClarity, Shopping and Nomad for a true ZTI model of Win7 deployments. Recall that Verizon Wireless got 30K Win7 deployments out the door with no extra staff by using some of what Ed is going to show us. The new Nomad task sequence add on is a must-see.

We'll finish up with Q & A and then go to any round table, open discussion afterwards.

Once again, we thank 1E for sponsoring food and drink and ask you to register to help with the food count at ClickToAttend.

Coming up for November, we'll have JD. Rickard from Wells Fargo speaking to us about the one thing that there are no tech classes for: Office Politics. JD is a blast so it should be fun and extremely useful.
