MNSCUG September 2012 Meeting

Note that tonight we are on the 2nd floor, Suite 275!

NowMicroOur next MN System Center User Group meeting will be Thursday, September 20th. from 4:30pm - 7:15pm at Microsoft's new Edina HQ building - 2nd Floor, Suite 275. We have two sessions slated for the evening.

Now Micro is going to sponsor fellow MNSCUG group member, Nash Pherson and Chris Muster. For the 2nd session of the evening, we have GPOs slated. Nash has submitted the following:

System Center Service Manager Basics

  • Incidents and Service Requests
  • Pushing users to the Self-Service Portal
  • Automating away as much work as possible (Being smart can help you be lazy)
  • Using the Application Approval Workflow (AAW) Solution Accelerator (Bringing ServMgr and ConfigMgr together using SCOrch).

I also imagine the session covering:

  • Many organizations own most all the licensing they need for Service Manager through their Enterprise Agreement (may ask one of the MSFT licensing folks to do this).
  • How an engagement with a company like Now Micro can help get you started. Where to start if you have no money to bring in help.

If you or anyone else has other ideas, I'd love to hear them. The one thing that doing Service Manager 2012 demos with customers has taught me is that each organization has completely different pain points that Service Manager can help with - anticipating them is hard.
